BRINGING THE GOSPEL TO THE LOST & THE WORD TO THE FOUND
Serving with Living Water Mukachevo, we are bringing the Gospel to those who do not know Jesus as well as discipling those who know Him already.
Every day is about creating new relationships or building existing ones, praying for the nation of Ukraine, shining a light in our community, doing practical ministry, and serving the local church.
We serve in many different existing ministries and will also help expand the ministry here with time.
Right now we are focused on learning Russian and that takes up a large part of our time and energy, but it will make us more effective at relationship building to be able to speak to those we are reaching in their native language which is our focus.
Russian, Ukrainian, Hungarian, and a local dialect are all spoken in this area but we are learning Russian because it is the most widely spoken in this part of the world.
Duane, Lisa, Elijah, and Abrianna are loving their involvement in the children's ministry!
Lisa assists with 4-8 year old children, teaching them from the Word, with song, and special activities.
Duane is part of a group of dads teaching the 9-12 year old pre-teens. Elijah and Abrianna help with the children and nursery.
Aidan makes waffles for the church's cafe ministry and is learning to make lattes and cappuccinos, as well. Abrianna is also learning to art of being a barista. This is a couple of days a week, and a great way to build relationships and get to know everyone.
Our entire family plays games, has life-giving conversations, prays with and for young people, and strengthens relationships with those who attend church and the community who enjoys the open doors at our cafe events.
Teaching The Word
We are actively involved in studying the Word and teaching it.
Duane will be sharing from the pulpit occasionally on Sundays, in addition to teaching the pre-teens.
Lisa works with the children and teens, as well as discipling more personally.
"Coffee table ministry" is a large part of our ministry here. This means we meet individually and build close relationships through hospitality and share the truth.
Prayer is the essential foundation to the work here.
Just as in the book of Acts, we recognize the essentialism of being in unity and prayer before ever going out and sharing the Word.
We are dedicated to the discipline of consistent personal prayer as well as communal prayer weekly for what is happening here.
Coming soon! Lisa and Katya will be working together to teach business classes to anyone who is interested.
Please pray with us as we work on topics and resources to help individuals here learn how to generate income, use their abilities, and meet practical needs in addition to spiritual ones.
Throughout the year there are many community events from art shows to concerts to street ministry that we are able to partner with.
Our focus is reaching the lost right here in our community and equipping the local believers to do the same.
From sharing meals to babysitting to fixing up homes, there's always a way to meet a practical need.
As we continue to get to know those around us, we are focused on being the hands and feet of Jesus to them.
This looks different every day, but is an essential part of what we do.
Homeschooling was recently legalized in Ukraine and there is a small community here already.
Lisa is encouraging new homeschooling moms and working with other experienced homeschooling moms to offer co-op classes and community for the journey.
This is a beautiful way to reach both mothers and children not only practically, but with the love of Jesus.
